Floods in Russia Damage Collection of Judaica (IsraelNN.com) Heavy rains caused extensive damage to a large collection of Jewish books, including 19th century texts, according to the St Petersburg Institute for Jewish Studies. Dampness threatens several other collections. Institute director Dr. Dmitry Elyashevich described the floods as catastrophic.
