Leaders of the Martyr Abu Amar Brigades, a branch of Fatah, said Sunday that they would not turn in their weapons or renounce violence.  Members of Fatah’s Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades promised to stop engaging in terrorist activity one week ago in exchange for a promise that they would not be arrested or assassinated.

Abu Amar Brigades spokesman Abu Mohammed said that the group’s terrorists “should automatically be immune to pursuit” because it was their “legitimate right” to attack Israelis.  He confirmed that the group remains loyal to Fatah and will obey Fatah decisions.
