Labor’s ‘Young Guard’ Visits Katif Expellees

Leaders of the Labor party’s “Young Guard” visited Jewish farmers from Gaza in their protest tent opposite the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday.  The visitors expressed sympathy with the farmers, who are protesting the government’s failure to provide them with housing and employment.  “They didn’t just take their houses,” one Labor member said of the government, “they took their soul and their way of life.”

Eren Hermoni, a top “Young Guard” official, said the treatment of the former Gaza residents would affect plans to destroy Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.  “Until today,” he said, “we believed that the government in Jerusalem would worry about the expellees and not throw them to the dogs.  In the future it will be hard for us to come and support the evacuation of other towns.”  Hermoni criticized the government, adding, “If the government can’t take care of them, it shouldn’t expel them.”
