Channel 2 news anchor Dana Weiss and veteran Haaretz/Globes commentator Mati Golan ganged up wildly on billionaire Arcadi Gaydamak in the program "Meet the Press" broadcast yesterday.

The journalists did not allow Gaydamak to finish his sentences and treated him with obvious contempt, accusing him of trying to buy the Israeli populace and telling him, at a certain point, to stop giving money to help Israelis under fire in Sderot. The interviewers also accused Gaydamak of trying to purchase the Tiv Ta'am delicatessen chain and make it kosher in order to pander to hareidi-religious voters. They seemed to be particularly incensed by Gaydamak's intention to run for the position of mayor of Jerusalem.

Gaydamak took none of this lying down and told Golan several times that he was "a zero" who made his living from writing lies. Golan said he agreed that he, Golan, was a zero. At a certain point, Weiss began "interviewing" Golan instead of Gaydamak, because Gaydamak did not cooperate with her style of questioning.
