Thousands of IDF soldiers are now operating in southern Lebanon, considerably more than was first indicated by military authorities.
--American Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is expected to urge Israel to accept a two-phase ceasefire plan which includes the immediate and unconditional release of three captive soldiers by Hizbullah and Hamas in exchange for a halt of Israel’s military offensive.
--Eulogizing two Israeli Arab children killed in a Hizbullah rocket attack earlier in the week in Nazareth, a community imam spoke of the day when there will be “true peace” and the Hizbullah flag will fly over “Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iran and Israel."
--An investigation into the Hizbullah terrorist missile attack on an Israeli Navy boat revealed that the Israeli warship had only 20 seconds to respond and was lacking intelligence information that would have prepared Naval officers to respond. Four men were killed in the incident.
