Storm-Damaged Torah To be Buried in New York

A heavy rain storm flooded Long Island, New York and cost the Jewish community a Torah scroll after flood waters swept it away and damaged it beyond repair. The holy scroll will be buried by the Beth Sholom Chabad congregation.

Damage to the Torah, synagogue offices and the social hall were estimated at $500,000.
