--The Aminach company has sent a truck to the north to donate mattresses to children who have been in shelters for over one week, hoping the contribution will in some way make their compulsory stay in shelters less difficult.

--Likud chairman and Knesset opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu told 230 North American immigrants to Israel, "Aliyah is the answer to Hizbullah."

--American military strategists have questioned Israel's strategy in its retaliation against Hizbullah terrorist targets in Lebanon. The former head of the U.S. Army War College, Stephen Biddle, charged that Israel's bombing is aimed at pressuring "others into solving their problems for them." Another strategist, James Dobbins of the Rand Corp., stated that Israel's military targets "have no conceivable relationship to Hizbullah."
