Police fraud investigators said they have opened up a probe into suspicions of fraud in the Labor primary elections last month following complaints by Druze and Arab members. Losing candidate Knesset Member Ami Ayalon charged after the elections that Labor party chairman Ehud Barak won his narrow victory through fraud but said he would not pursue the matter.
Initial suspicions indicate that the alleged fraud may have helped Barak in two polling stations and MK Ayalon in two others. The police also investigated voting in the two previous Labor primaries.
