      Northern Israel enjoyed relative quiet on the seventh day of the war, but the hopes for a calm evening were shattered by a massive wave of more than 100 Katyusha rockets. One person was killed and several others injured in the barrage on the Mediterranean Coast town of Nahariya in the northwest corner of Israel. 

      --Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told a United Nations delegation that Hizbullah terrorists must return two kidnapped IDF soldiers and that Israel's security must be guaranteed.

      --Defense Minister Amir Peretz during the night instructed the IDF Homefront Command to activate hundreds of reservists to assist Haifa and northern area residents who are being compelled to remain in shelters due to ongoing Hizbullah shelling.

      --The Lebanese Hizbullah organization is helping to direct and fund some planned Islamic Jihad and Fatah terrorist attacks inside Israeli cities, according to Israeli intelligence sources.
