Canadian Lawyer To Testify on Jews from Arab States

A former Canadian Justice Minister and Attorney General will testify on Thursday at the American Congressional hearings on human rights for Jewish refugees from Arab countries. Dr. Irwin Cotler, who also is an international human rights advocate, served as counsel for former prisoners of conscience in the Soviet Union.



Stanley Urman, Executive Director of Justice for Jews from Arab Countries, said, "When the issue of 'refugees' is raised within the context of the Middle East, people invariably refer to 'Palestinian refugees,' virtually never to the plight and flight of Jews, Christians and other minority populations from Arab countries."
