(IsraelNN.com) Vice Prime Minister Chaim Ramon will be appointed by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to supervise plans to demolish Jewish hilltop communities and expel their residents, local media reported Monday.

Ramon was involved with the issue last year when he was Justice Minister before being forced to resign after charges and eventual conviction for a sexual offense. The court did not sentence him to jail, enabling him to avoided the definition of "shame" that would have prevented him from returning to the government.
