Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu) has begun a campaign promoting electoral reform, including a switch to the United States style of election by various districts.  Lieberman has made efforts to enlist others to his cause, and hopes to vote in electoral reform while the current coalition is still in power.

Lieberman is hoping to convince other party heads to pass an initial version of his bill on condition that they will have input in the creation of a final version.  The final version would be written by a committee with members of every political party, according to Lieberman’s plan.
