Survey: 66% Likud Support for Netanyahu

A survey taken for the Knesset channel (Channel 99) on Thursday showed that 66% of Likud voters support party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu as the next party head.  Netanyahu’s main rival, MK Silvan Shalom, received support from 34% of Likud voters.

Netanyahu has pushed to hold early primaries, and announced Wednesday that primaries would be held in the first week of September.  Shalom has voiced his disagreement with the new date, and says he will attempt to postpone the primaries until after the fall holidays.
