U.S. Plays Down Reports of Al Qaeda Plans To Attack
(IsraelNN.com) American officials Monday downplayed a report that Al Qaeda terrorists are planning a major attack in the United States this summer. The fears were raised following Sunday's attempted car bombings in London and at one of the city's airports.
"We do not currently have any specific threat information that is credible about a particular attack on the United States," Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said. However, he added that Al Qaeda wants to carry out attacks on the U.S.
