Acting President of Israel Dalia Itzik spoke this evening at the ceremony marking one year since the Second Lebanon War. She said that the summer of 2006 was a sad one, and that "Israeli citizens were in a state of helplessness, and went through painful experiences."

Itzak added, "The Second Lebanon War will be remembered as the war in which the State of Israel sobered up and was called to pay a heavy price."
