Prime Minister Ehud Olmert gave in Sunday to demands by the Labor Party to delay across-the-board budget cuts in the government.

Labor ministers said they wanted time to examine other options in an effort to avoid the cuts.

The Labor Party central committee is slated to meet later in the day to decide whether it will leave the Olmert coalition. Such a move could topple the government, since Labor is the coalition’s second largest member.
