The murderer of Eliyahu Asheri, a young resident of Itamar, was convicted in Judea Military Court of killing the young hitchhiker a year ago and was sentenced to life in prison.

Imam Kamamdi was actually sentenced by the court Sunday to two life terms in prison – one for Asheri’s murder and the second for his conviction on charges of planning a suicide car bombing.

Asheri was kidnapped from a trampiada (hitchhiking station) near the Samaria community of Ofra, northeast of Jerusalem. The three Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade terrorists who were indicted for kidnapping and shooting Asheri confessed that they were forced to tie him up after he fought back fiercely.
