Meretz Party Chairman Yossi Beilin has added his voice to those who are criticizing a decision by the State Prosecutor’s Office to allow a plea bargain on rape and other sexual assault charges against suspended President Moshe Katzav.
“The decision……..is shocking,” said the Meretz MK. “The system…..has to explain to the public how the indictment was changed in such a surprising manner.”
MK Beilin demanded an explanation for the decision, which would allow a suspended sentence in return for a guilty plea to lesser charges.
