Israel Downplays Bolton Fears

Israeli officials have downplayed fears expressed by former United States Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton in an interview. Bolton said Tuesday that diplomacy and sanctions have proved useless in the struggle against Iran’s nuclear program, and that regime change or the use of force were the only two remaining options.

Israeli officials said that with “determination and an uncompromising approach” from both Israel and other countries, sanctions against Iran could still work. One official called Bolton the “[MK] Avigdor Lieberman” of the US, while another said he was “too categorical.”
