MK Uri Ariel (NU/NRP) will tour the city of Lod on Thursday. Ariel will meet with Mayor Ilan Harari, with leaders of youth movements, and with local teenagers. The main focus of Ariel’s visit will be the phenomena of Arab migration into Jewish neighborhoods and resulting acts of anti-Semitism against Jews.
Ariel explained that Jews in mixed cities such as Lod, Haifa, Carmiel, Yafo, and Be’er Sheva are often the victims of frequent attacks by their Arab neighbors. Among other types of attack, he said, Jews face physical and verbal violence, property crime, anti-Semitic graffiti, and the frequent display of Hamas flags. “Hamas didn’t take over in Gaza alone,” Ariel warned, “For some time it’s had a firm stand in the heart of Israel, and its flags are waving in many cities.”
