It's official: the man who was British Prime Minister for a decade (until today), Tony Blair, is the Middle East envoy for the "Quartet." An announcement to this effect was made Wednesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Quartet is comprised of the US, United Nations, Russia and the European Union, and was formed to deal with the Middle East crisis when it began spiraling out of control in 2002.
