Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain swore in the new British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Wednesday, after accepting Tony Blair's resignation. Brown met with Elizabeth for 58 minutes and beamed as he left Buckingham Palace to form the new government.

"This will be a new government with new priorities," said Brown. "I have the privilege to get the great opportunity to serve my country," he said.
