The so-called Quartet – the US, UN, Russia and EU – have decided to appoint outgoing British Prime Minister Tony Blair their special envoy to the Middle East, according to London’s Financial Times.



The paper says today's Quartet meeting at the US consulate in Jerusalem "is all about arranging logistics, making final arrangements and getting the announcement out."
