Prime Minister Ehud Olmert made a speech of appeasement at the Sharm El-Sheikh summit meeting between himself and the leaders of Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinian Authority (PA).
Olmert announced that he currently sees a chance to "seriously" move the diplomatic process forward. "The Palestinian leadership which recognizes Israel, rejects terror and violence as a means and as an end, is a government we recognize," he said.
Olmert promised to transfer tax revenues to the PA, to make "meaningful" improvement in the freedom of movement of the Arab population in Judea and Samaria and renew commercial ties with this population.
