A second part of the audio tape of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit calls on the government to release Palestinian Authority (PA) prisoners and terrorists in exchange for his release. Shalit also states that he may have to be hospitalized for a long time because of poor health. "I'm sorry for the lack of interest the government has in me," the message stated.

It is not known when his voice was recorded. Palestinian Authority (PA) officials have stated that he is in good condition. The IDF is examining the tape in an attempt to determine if it was edited.
