Weather: The End is Near, Relief on the Sabbath

The suffocating heat wave that began on the Sabbath will continue until the end of the week, but temperatures should return to normal this Sabbath. The expected drop in temperatures is not anticipated to be accompanied by the typical winds and scattered rains that often come with the end of a sharav heat wave.

      Temperatures Monday will reach 45 degrees (113 Fahrenheit) in Eilat, 38 (100 F) in Be'er Sheva, 36 (97 F) in Jerusalem and a sticky 30 degrees (86 F) in Tel Aviv.

The thermometer will drop by two to three degrees Celsius on Tuesday but then rise a bit on Wednesday and Thursday. On the Sabbath, it will be "only" 40 degrees (104 F) in Eilat and a more comfortable 31 (88 F) in Jerusalem and 29 (84 F) in Tel Aviv.
