The Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem ended on Thursday afternoon less than two hours after it began. A gathering and party scheduled to take place after the parade were cancelled due to a firefighters strike.
Approximately 2,000 people participated in the parade. They were protected by 7,000 police officers. At least 1,000 held an anti-parade protest in the city center, and many others protested elsewhere. 12 anti-parade protestors were arrested, and have been accused of harassing parade participants.
