Law Committee: Knesset Should Address Violence

(IsraelNN.com) The Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee recommended that the Knesset create a special committee to address violence amongst Israelis. MK Menahem Ben Sassoon noted that of the 57 different lobbies currently operating in the Knesset, none addresses the issue of violence. The proposed committee would address different types, causes, and perspectives on violence.
Ben Sassoon noted that it was unacceptable for the Knesset to continue blaming law enforcement agencies for the existence of violence in Israel unless it did something about it. He expressed hope that the Knesset would work together with law enforcement to curb violence in Israel.
