Olmert: Reaction to Rockets Depends on Injuries
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert discussed Sunday’s rocket attacks on Kiryat Shemona in a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon in New York on Sunday night. Olmert explained to Ki-Moon that “I would have reacted differently if there had been wounded from the Katyusha fire.”
Olmert said the response to the rocket fire should be to strengthen both the international force in southern Lebanon and the Lebanese army. Both groups should be given more authority to act as they see fit in the area, he said. He said that the rockets were apparently not fired by Hizbullah, and suggested that international terrorist group Al-Qaeda might have been behind the attack.
