The Ministerial Committee for Symbols and ceremonies has set Tamuz 16th as the official memorial day for the Second Lebanon War. The annual memorial ceremony for the war will be organized by the Defense Ministry and Yad Labanim – the organization in charge of memorials for the nation's fallen soldiers.
Committee Chairman Minister Yaakov Edri said Sunday that many family members of fallen soldiers had contacted him and asked for a memorial ceremony to be set, as the first anniversary of the war approaches.
The Second Lebanon War began July 12th, 2006 - Tamuz 16th according to the Hebrew calendar.
