Former Intelligence deputy chief Major-General Ya'akov Amidror said Wednesday that the destruction of Jewish communities in the Gaza area and the subsequent pullout of the IDF from the area left a vacuum allowing Hamas terrorists to takeover Gaza.
"After Israel lost control over its border with Gaza, Hamas members were able to train outside the Strip and then return home with a lot of knowledge."
He warned that Israel soon will face a Hamas terrorist state in Gaza that will smuggle long-range missiles that can strike Haifa. The only solution is for Israel to return to Gaza and be prepared to stay for several years, the reserve IDF officer added.
