Former Gush Katif families living in the Golan Heights trust the public to oppose any government attempt to give up the strategic area to Syria as a solution to defeat terror, expulsion victim Yackie Zarieli declared Monday morning.

"Let's give up Sderot because that is the only solution the government knows," he said, referring to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's suggestion that Israel give up the Golan Heights in exchange for peace with Syria. The government promised two years ago that the expulsion of Gush Katif families would bring an end to Palestinian Authority (PA) terror.

Zarieli said that 23 expelled families are successfully farming in the Golan Heights. "We have faith and with that we will work," he added.
