The Ofek 7 satellite was successfully launched on Sunday night. The satellite, which is 2.3 meters long and weighs 300 kilos, is expected to provide security information over the course of the next four years.

Security officials explained that Israel launches spy satellites every two and a half years on average. The last satellite launched was Ofek 6, which suffered a malfunction and crashed into the Mediterranean sea.
