Red Cross President: Three IDF Abductees Top My Agenda
The President of the International Red Cross, Jacob Kellenberger, said Friday that the fate of the three Israeli soldiers abducted in 2006 is at the top of his organization's agenda. Referring to the Hamas and Hizbullah's refusal to pass letters to the soldiers and from them, Kellenberger said that he refused to accept the answer "no" and that he expects the groups to give signs of life from the abductees.
"In Lebanon and Gaza, we called upon those holding the soldiers to treat them humanely, to respect international humanitarian law, and to let them make contact with their families," he said.
Miki Goldwasser, mother of abducted soldier Ehud Goldwasser, is to meet the heads of the Red Cross Monday in Geneva.
