International terrorist group Al-Qaeda has declared war (jihad) on India, Indian officials said Saturday. In a video sent to Indian reporters, terrorists said they would attack due to India’s control of part of the Kashmir region, which has a large Muslim population. Separatist Muslim groups in Kashmir have been fighting India since 1989, in a conflict that has killed approximately 68,000.

In their message to Indian authorities, the terrorists mentioned places around the world in which the group is active, including areas in Israel controlled by the Palestinian Authority. Their goal, the terrorists said, is to establish a worldwide Islamic Caliphate.
