The level of the Sea of Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) fell by 1 cm within 24 hours because of a heat wave that hit Israel on Wednesday. Its current surface level is 211.2 meters below sea level.

The famous lake is one of Israel’s prime sources for fresh, drinkable water.
