The Center for Jewish Pluralism slammed the Knesset Wednesday evening for approving in its first reading a bill that would empower the Jerusalem municipality to ban the homosexual “Pride Parade” or any other event that is found to be offensive.

“It is a disgrace that the State will not allow its own citizens to march in the capital, democratic or otherwise, and woe to the citizens of a state whose government sells out its basic principles in exchange for its political survival,” said Reform Rabbi Gilad Kariv in response to the vote.
