Army soldiers have arrested an 18-year-old Bethlehem area Arab who severely injured an elderly woman near Efrat and told investigators he wanted to kill Jews. The woman suffered wounds to her face and head May 13 and was hospitalized in serious condition.

The attacker, Mahmad Mahmoud Wahash, confessed to hurling rocks at several cars on Highway 60, connecting the southern Hevron Hills, Kiryat Arba and Gush Etzion with Jerusalem. He also revealed he was planning to hurl firebombs at vehicles and IDF soldiers and was considering joining the Hamas terror organization.
