(IsraelNN.com) The police have recommended that indictments be filed against former Tax Authority officials, charged with influencing the promotion of Jackie Matza to head the Tax Authority and use the position to help businessmen.

Among those accused of corruption, breach of public trust and fraud are Matza, former head of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's bureau Shula Zaken and businessmen Kobi Ben Gur and Yoram Karashi.

The Prime Minister has not been charged in the scandal, but he has suffered from increasing suspicions of corruption because of his association with Matza.
