(IsraelNN.com) Canadian authorities have arrested 12 people, included five youths, who admitted to being part of a terrorist cell planning to make bombs. Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the group had amassed three times the amount of raw materials used in the devastating Oklahoma City bombing that killed 169 people in 1995.

--Giora Eiland, outgoing head of the National Security Council and formerly a chief aide to former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, said that unilateral expulsions "will not bring stability to the Middle East."

--Foreign Minister Tzippi Livni harshly criticized Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter’s recommendation that Israel conquer territory in Gaza in order to distance Kassam rockets from Israeli towns in the Negev. “Your words are unacceptable,” she said. “In other words you’re saying, ‘let the IDF win,’ and from that it would appear that you have realistic and acceptable solutions…which the government does not want to implement, something that is incorrect.”

Defense Minister Amir Peretz said the suggestion is "irrelevant" and won compliments from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who made it a point to praise the Labor party chairman on his work since heading the defense ministry.
