The government’s naming committee has decided to name the Ayalon Park in the Tel-Aviv area after former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
The committee approved the request by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to name the area “Ariel Sharon Park”.
Prime Minister Olmert worked together with former Prime Minister Sharon to design and implement the 2005 Disengagement in which more than 8,000 Israelis were expelled from their homes in Gaza and northern Samaria.
