Vice Premier and elder statesman Shimon Peres officially applied for the position of President of Israel Sunday morning.  Two Kadima party colleagues, Knesset Members Yoel Hasson and Ronit Tirosh handed in Mr. Peres' application forms to run as a candidate in the upcoming race.

The presidential elections are scheduled for June 13th.
