Journalists working for CNN are suspected of assaulting and injuring a security officer in the community of Nofim in Samaria. The CNN crew arrived in Nofim Thursday and were asked by the community's security officer, Rami Shenvald, to identify themselves and explain what they were doing inside the community.

The crew said they had come to film a family and provided a name – only it turned out there was no such family living in Nofim. When the crew refused to identify themselves an altercation broke out, with the crew members physically assaulting Shenvald. The crew attempted to escape in their vehicle but were blocked by Shenvald, who was lightly injured.

Police arrived on the scene and detained the crew as well as Shenvald. They were interrogated in Ariel police station and later released. The investigation is ongoing.
