A Kassam rocket hit a house in Sderot on Wednesday night shortly after 10 PM and caused a blackout to several neighborhoods. Electric company crews began working to repair the damage immediately, and managed to return power to all but a few apartments in just over an hour. Residents of the house struck by the rocket were unhurt, as they had managed to enter a reinforced room mere seconds before the rocket hit.
The blackout took place just hours after the security cabinet met to discuss further responses to the ongoing rocket attacks. Several of those present at the meeting suggested that Israel cut off electricity to Gaza in order to convince local Arabs to oppose the attacks.
