The Shurat HaDin (Israel Law Center) is urging citizens to sign a petition asking the High Court to bar Arabs from using Highway 443, which skirts the city of Modi'in west of Jerusalem.
The petition is in response to an appeal to the court by the Israel Association for Civil Rights, which has asked the High Court to order the re-opening of the highway to residents of six Arab villages situated in close proximity to the road.
The rights group alleges that the roadblocks and prohibitions are not based upon security concerns and validate racial discrimination against Palestinian residents.
Terrorists have carried out dozens of shooting and firebomb attacks on passing Israeli motorists since the Oslo War broke out in September 2000.
