The Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades, aligned with the Fatah faction, has established a terrorist cell in the area of Jerusalem in order to carry out attacks in the capital, WorldNetDaily reported. Israel regards Fatah leader Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas as a moderate.

"We have Israeli Arab brothers who are members of the Brigades who live in Israel and will [carry out] in the coming days and weeks shootings and suicide bombings," the unnamed Brigades leader told the news site. He added, "Even in the case that there will be a ceasefire in Gaza, [we] will keep attacking Israel."

Al Aksa cell took responsibility for the Saturday night shooting of two security guards in eastern Jerusalem. One was wounded seriously and the other suffered lighter injuries. Blue Israeli identity cards were found on the bodies of the two terrorists killed in an exchange of gunfire with the guards.

Jerusalem police spokesman Shmulik Ben Ruby told WorldNetDaily that police were investigating the Brigades claim.
