Allegations of Attempted Bribery in Labor Primaries
Sources close to Labor party candidates MK Dani Yatom and MK Ami Ayalon have said that they were offered bribes to influence the results of the Labor primaries, which will be held on Monday. Sources close to Yatom said that he had been offered a full refund of his campaign expenses if he would drop out of the race, a move that could provide more votes to front running candidates. Yatom has denied the claims, and says that no one has tried to bribe him.
Sources close to Ayalon say that leaders in the Arab community have offered to provide Arab votes in exchange for cash. Campaign staff have not yet filed an official complaint.
