Britain Orders Jewish School To Trust 'Kosher at Home' Reported: 05:54 AM - May/25/07
(IsraelNN.com) Britain has ordered the King David's School in Manchester to allow children to bring lunches from home into the school's kosher cafeteria. The school had banned packed lunches for fear that the food might not be kosher.
The change was ordered after a two-year battle by Esther Lyndley, who has had to take her children out of school during lunchtime and bring them food to a nearby park or in the car. She explained, "The food they serve in the canteen may be kosher but it is not healthy." The mother argued that the ban on home-cooked food is not reasonable. "Only Jewish children go to the school. Their parents are obviously only going to give them kosher food to take into school," she explained. ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
