Rocket Attacks Leave Sderot Workers Without Wages
Sderot workers have become financial victims of the barrage of Kassam rocket attacks on the Negev city because the law does not cover wages lost due to security problems. Hundreds of workers either cannot arrive at work due to constant attacks or because factories have shut down.
Shas Minister of Trade and Industry Eli Yishai signed an order Sunday allowing the ministry to force workers in essential factories to show up for work regardless of the security situation.
Employees in the Galilee were compensated for wages lost during last summer's Second Lebanon War only after public pressure.
