IDF soldiers shut down three television stations and one radio station in Shechem on Sunday night, and confiscated equipment used in broadcasting. The stations were all affiliated with Hamas.

IDF officials explained Monday that the stations were used to incite listeners to violence. While Israel has fought Palestinian Authority incitement alone for some time, the PA itself has recently joined the calls to end incitement, after several Hamas preachers called for violence against Fatah and senior PA officials.
